The customer has a 22mm water main and we managed to fit the unit in a small corner unit. Easy to put salt in and it uses an other wise dead space.

There is Chlorine which can make your water taste of bleach. We have a solution- one of our sink mounted mains fed filtered water taps. They started at £150.00 fitted.
Leaking Water
At this customers house we found this old Water main. It had already be patch 3 or 4 times before it was replaced.
Old iron water main
After it was replaced there was more water pressure, the water was a better colour and the grass was no longer soggy.
They are now going to have a water softener to rid their home of scale.

We had a call from a customer who really wanted a block salt Harvey water softener.
He had visits from two different company's who said it was not possible. To difficult, impossible.
After a 10 minute survey it was obvious it was possible with some clever thinking and some clever plumbing. It took longer to convince the customer it was possible after the so called experts said no.
Its fitted and soft water has made this man very happy as you can see.

High flow, low flow
When you have a Water Softener fitted it is important to make sure it is sized correctly. Not only for the amount of people but also for the water main capacity.
This picture shows a nice big 22mm water main that has been taken down a size to fit a undersized water softener. The unit had been unreliable and has restricted the water flow to the customers pressurised hot water system, not good.
Note also the garden hose used as an overflow.

Where is your stopcock?
That's one of the first questions we ask when we visit a customer.
In this case it was no existent. The plumber had replaced it with a boiler care system which was also feeding their drinking water. Yum yum.
So we took it off and replaced it with a stopcock. Relagged the pipes and then fitted a block salt water softener inside the house.
Its really important to be able to turn your water off in an emergency.

So we headed of down to Lyme Regis for a job and got talked into visiting a job in Seaton Devon.
Walked down to the beach for a selfie before I escaped back to the saftey of Dorset.

He could see the damage that hard water was doing to his home and how it made his families skin sore.
Here is the solution a Harveys Block Salt Softener fitted in the garage. It takes up very little room and will start paying for itself straight away.

In the roof
This customer in the New Forset had a Eco Water softener for many years which had been installed in the loft.
We replaced it with a block salt Harveys softener which will make putting salt in much easier. Plus we upgraded the pipe work to full bore valves and protected the whole installation with a Pressure protection valve.
